With extensive training and experience in treating complex tumors and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, Dr. Siegel is one of the few orthopedic oncologists in Alabama. His clinical interests include bone and soft tissue tumors, skeletal metastases, infection, and severe trauma. He has particular expertise in limb preservation surgery, enabling resection of cancers and reconstruction of the limbs.
In addition to orthopedic oncology, Dr. Siegel specializes in revision joint replacement surgery. Also known as revision arthroplasty, this demanding procedure is necessary when a previously implanted artificial joint fails or complications arise. By removing the original components and replacing them with new implants, the joint can be stabilized and restored to proper function. This surgery requires advanced skills in managing bone defects, instability, infection, and other complex issues.
